Intersect’s involvement in eResearch Australasia 2021

After months of preparation, the highly anticipated eResearch Australasia 2021 conference commenced on the 11th of October and ran until the 15th of October.

This year, Intersect sponsored the event as the Major In-person Events Sponsor and had a record 14 accepted submissions. A total of 21 attendees from Intersect Australia attended presentations over the 5-day conference and an astounding 500 people registered for the conference.

Intersect continues to collaborate with the wider eResearch community, for example, for the second year in a row, Intersect was involved in facilitating an ARDC Skills Summit session, an exciting initiative to encourage collaborative opportunities within the eResearch community.

Jonathan Arthur, Head of Membership Services at Intersect said  ‘eResearch Australasia is a great opportunity for research institutions to share insights that support our collective interest in building digital research capability within the sector. Intersect has been a supporter of the conference for many years, and we were pleased to be able to do so again this year: sharing our experiences and learning from the experiences of others.

Pleasingly, members of the eResearch community showed a great deal of interest in the Intersect led sessions at eResearch Australasia 2021. We noted that participants showed special interest in the Intersect Professional Development Framework. This model was shared with the community under a Creative Commons non-commercial license and we experienced a substantial number of visits to this page after the conference, suggesting that attendees were actively connecting and engaging with the content.
